TIE Lesson Ideas
After going back and forth between Social Studies, Math or Science as possible content areas to use my TIE lesson i decided to switch it back to Social Studies. I discussed this with my CT and she thought it would be a great idea to intergreate technology to breathe a bit of life into the regions of Texas. I am covering the Coastal Plains regions. This is the largest region of them all and is broken up into smaller areas. I talked it over with my CT and for my lesson 10/13/2011 I present my VT to the students and have them take notes on the five major areas. They are going to make a Top-Tab Book (dina zykes flip which is awesome!!) that will include their own pictures and descriptive sentences. After my lesson I will take pictures of portions of their flip books and pull students by groups to the computer to record their voices. My ct thought it would be a great idea to have the student go back and review this information. The doodling tool will be used to underline important facts because our class is studying note taking and i thought this would be a great idea for practice. I was a bit worried about this TIE lesson because I am not the most tech savy person but I am actually excited to implement it! Wish me good luck!!
